About LetterHold

LetterHold is a strategic word-building board game where players take turns placing letter tiles on a 15x15 grid to form words and score points. Each tile drag shows the potential score, helping players plan moves that maximize value by using premium squares and combining words. The game supports multiple play styles, including solo matches against AI with adjustable difficulty, pass-and-play sessions for up to four players on the same device, and online games with friends or strangers. LetterHold features three language options—English, Ukrainian, and Polish—each with unique tile distributions and dictionaries, ensuring a fresh challenge in each language. The intuitive drag-and-drop controls and hints make it accessible for both casual and competitive players seeking a thoughtful word challenge.

How to Play

Goal: score more points than your opponent by building words on the board. The game ends when the bag is empty and one player uses up their rack; the highest score wins.

Mouse or touch - everything is drag and tap, no keyboard required:
- Drag a tile from your rack onto the board to place it; drag it again to move it
- Undo lifts the last tile, Undo-all takes the whole turn back
- Play commits your word and scores it
- Pass gives up the turn; Exchange swaps chosen tiles back into the bag
- Shuffle re-orders your rack, Hint suggests a move

Words must connect to what is already on the board, and every word you form is checked against the dictionary of the chosen language. Premium squares multiply a letter or the whole word, and using all your tiles in one turn earns a bonus.
